Dear Students,

Thank you for participating in today’s class and to those who shared thoughts, ideas, and asked questions. It was another intense session on topics like othering, the subaltern, and more. I believe it offered an opportunity to “join the dots” between different issues, topics, and epochs through a postcolonial perspective! Well done.

In preparation for Thursday's class, I invite you to consider the following assignments:

1. Chronology

As with today’s class, I encourage you to go through the chronologies from Poplawski’s book, which I have already uploaded on the eLearning page (see Lesson #2). This time, please select key dates and facts concerning the “condition of the British Empire” to help familiarize yourself with the transformations of the empire during the period under examination (and memorize some key dates).

2. (optional) A Video Interview with Kabe Wilson

If you are interested in getting a preview of the next class, you might consider watching the interview with Kabe Wilson about his (fascinating!) work Olivia N'Gowfri – Of One Woman Or So (see the link in Lesson #4).

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me through the Forum for this course.

See you on Thursday!

P.S. For those who enjoyed Dr. Jordet’s talk, I have also uploaded a paper she co-authored, which explores the topic she presented today in greater depth.
