Dear Students,

A quick follow-up email about yesterday’s class. Many thanks to all of you for participating and for the collaborative work we did in analyzing the narrative voice, spatiality, and (main) characters in Chris Cleave’s The Other Hand through the lens of postcolonial studies, as we have developed in this course.

*

There is no assignment for next week, but please review what we have covered so far and let me know in time for the next class (Tuesday, December 17) if you have any questions or need any clarifications.

*

After completing the discussion on The Other Hand, based on some metaphors worth exploring, we will focus on the structure of the exam and, in particular, the types of questions you may expect for MODULE B of this course, for which we will do some practice.

*

As mentioned in class, please note that on Tuesday, the second half of the class will be taught by Prof. Nicora. She will be discussing the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, as previously indicated.

Prof. Nicora will also teach the final class of this course on Thursday, December 19 (16:00-19:00), covering the same topic.

*

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,

SR
