Special Topics in International Business
Dear all,
First and foremost, I would like to truly thank those who are committed & dedicated to this course.
As you know, we have already done the first two weeks. That means nearly 17% of the course was completed. Congratulations!
I plan to gradually increase the intensity of this course. By next Monday, I would like you to carefully read the following articles:
(1) Lego's Secret; &
(2) Rolls-Royce - Evolving Capabilities.
Moreover, I would like the following students to conduct additional research & concisely present their findings in the next class with respect to (1) major competitors & the way to compete with them, (2) financial & non-financial performance over the last 20 years, (3) the degree, pace & intensity of internationalization, (4) international marketing & brand strategies, or (5) organization & structure of global value chain system, for example. Of course, any other topics (e.g., recruitment strategy, digitalization, corporate governance etc.) are also welcome. You do not have to talk about everything, but you can focus exclusively on 2-3 topics as you wish.
(1) Lego: BEATRICE CAPITANIO, ESTER NIKHASANAJ, & JULIA ANDRASZAK
(2) Rolls-Royce: JAMES ARRAN GALLAGHER, GREGORIO MORELLI, & LUCA RUBERTO
It is not necessary for the above-named students to prepare ppt slides but they can feel free to use the whiteboard or simply explain your information in a well-organized manner using your own notes.
Please prepare an interesting story or stories from a practical point of view.
Thank you in advance for your loyal cooperation.
Kind wishes,
Norifumi Kawai
