Dear all,
Re: June Exam
I hope that you are really doing well as always.
Moreover, I trust that you are well-prepared for the final exam of my course this week.
Frankly speaking, I have the impression that the difficulty or ease of the exam is definitely proportional to the amount, depth & quality of your thorough preparation. Therefore, the most constructive advice I can give you at this moment is to learn profoundly in both theory & practice & prepare much more than others. You are strongly advised to double-check the presentation titled “Exam Instruction” once again.
On the exam day, please follow the guidelines I have already outlined (see “Exam Instruction”). Just in case, I wanted to provide a summary both precisely & clearly.
- Please arrive at the exam venue at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time (You will be required to wait outside until the invigilator invites you in);
- Late arrivals will not be allowed to take the exam on the same day, as entering after the exam has started would disrupt others;
- Once you leave the exam room for any reason (e.g., to use the restroom), you will not be permitted to re-enter the room;
- Please place your bag in the corner, rather than keeping it near you, on the chair, & on the floor;
- Please switch off your mobile phone & place it in your bag - not in your pocket;
- Any unethical behavior or suspicious actions will result in disqualifications & no grade will be awarded;
- Seats will be assigned on the day of the exam, & further instructions will be given at that time;
- Apple watches or similar smart devices are strictly prohibited;
- Please do not open & even touch the exam paper until instructed to do so by the invigilator;
- Please ensure that only your ID card, pens, a water bottle (if necessary), whiteout, highlighters, & rulers are on your desk (Pencil cases are not allowed);
- If you decide not to take the exam after registering officially, please notify the course convenor in advance for the sake of courtesy; &
- I will fairly evaluate everyone’s exam performance based on the top 10% of exam scripts as the official benchmark. In this regard, please keep in mind that “to become better, good is insufficient. To be the best, better still isn’t enough.”
I wish you the very best on your exam & please have a magnificent & fulfilling day.
Most sincerely,
Norifumi Kawai
