How to evaluate online sources using the method: Currency - Relevance - Authority - Accuracy - Purpose
The CRAAP test
It's very difficult to evaluate online resources, even more difficult in the social media era.
However, you can use some evaluation tools, the most known is the CRAAP test.
This tool was created in 2004 by researcher Sarah Blakeslee in her article:
Blakeslee, Sarah (2004) "The CRAAP Test," LOEX Quarterly: Vol. 31: No. 3, Article 4. Available at: https://commons.emich.edu/loexquarterly/vol31/iss3/4
It's not the only one and was also criticized , but it's still valid.
CRAAP stays for Currency - Relevance - Authority - Accuracy - Purpose.
The method consists in a checklist to evaluate these aspects.
