Chicago notes and bibliography style (Chicago A)

The main source for this style is the Chicago manual of style, now at the 18th edition. In this manual you can find this style and also the Chicago author and date style (Chicago A).

To cite a book

A footnote is so built:

Author's surname (if there's more than one author, the surnames are separated by a comma), Title (abbreviated if too long), publication year

In the final bibliography:

Author's surname, author's name ( if there's more than one author, the names and surnames are separated by a comma).  Title. Publisher, publication year.

To cite a book chapter

A footnote is so built:

Author's surname (if there's more than one author, the surnames are separated by a comma), Title of the chapter, page cited

In the final bibliography:

Author's surname, author's name ( if there's more than one author, the names and surnames are separated by a comma).  Titolo of the chapter. in Title of the book, italic by Name and surname of the book's author (or authors), chapter pages. Publisher, publication year.

To cite a journal article

A footnote is so built:

Author's surname (if there's more than one author, the surnames are separated by a comma), Title of the article, pages of the article

In the final bibliography:

Author's surname, author's name ( if there's more than one author, the names and surnames are separated by a comma).  Titolo of the article.  Title of the journal, italic . Volume number, issue number (publication year): article pages. Link or DOI.
