The reference managers

Reference Management Software, or citation software are tools that help you store and format references for your thesis.

With these tools you can:

• save and store in a personal database the documents you are using;
• share your bibliography with your fellow students or tutors;
• automatically insert in-text citations and footnotes;
• automatically format references for your final bibliography.

There are both free and paid reference managers available. The University of Bergamo does not have any subscriptions to paid software. We'll show you only free functionalities. We recommend regularly backing up your data to ensure its safety.
