                                                          PROJECT WORKS

***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The first time you open the "Project works: Groups" spreadsheet available in the Moddle, you will have to insert your name, surname, country and languages you speak well in the bottom part of the page. Only then I will assign you to one of the groups at the top of the page. If you started the course after a few weeks, or if you are a non-attending student, please write me an email informing me that you inserted your name in the spreadheet, so I will be able to assign you to a group.

Once you have been assigned to a group, contact the other members of your group to get in touch with them and learn what are the tasks that your group is currently doing for the two project works. During lesson, seat in the same row of your group: students of the first group sit in the first row, and so on.

In order to register to the written exam, you need to join one group and complete both project works.

                                                          FIRST PROJECT WORK

***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

This project work can be done individually. First, join the facebook groups "Alps for Beginners" and "Dolomites for Beginners". Then, for each week until the end of the course, publish a post in the group "Alps for Beginners" and comment 4 or more posts of your companions. Also answer to one or more of their comments. Finally, like all the posts of the group you didn't like yet.

Each post should also have at least one image attached. Take an existing photo available in the group of "Dolomites for Beginners" and use Google Gemini to edit it, removing the existing people in the photo and replacing them with others generated by AI. Change the number of persons, their faces and their dresses. Experiment with the photo by adding twilights/animal/objects/mountains in the background until the photo is very different form the original one.

In order to be admitted to the written exam, you have to publish a total of 10 posts and comment 50+ posts of your companions. You can keep track of these numbers in the two columns in the right part of the "Project works: Groups" spreadsheet available in the Moddle

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you have a newly created facebook account (in the year 2025), the algorithm will recognize it and will not give any visibility to your posts. In this case, instead of publishing 10 posts, you have to write only comments in the group (100+ instead of 50+).

                                                          SECOND PROJECT WORK

***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

This project work is more complex than the first one. Each group will become a team of video makers and social media managers and disseminate to the social media the immaterial heritage of our civilization. First, listen to the podcast that illustrates the second project work. Then, read chapter 3 and 4.2 of the master thesis of Asad Abbas (available in the Moodle) to understand the video making strategy. Finally, contact the other members of your group and ask them at which point they are exactly.

                                                            WRITTEN EXAM

***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The written exam is very straightforward. It is made up by 20 closed questions. Each question has three answers, one true and two wrong. This course is an “Idoneità”, so you won’t get any numerical grade, just “approved” or “not approved”. You need to answer correctly to 12 questions or more in order to be approved.

All questions of the exam regard just the definition of the information technologies (IT) described in the pdf of the lessons. You only need to know the definition of the ITs, not their inner working or applications, or their impact on tourism. Just the definition of the IT. One or two questions may also be related to the definition of bit/byte, KB, MB, GB, TB etc.

There are seven dates for the written exam during the year. You can select the one you prefer. If you can, aim for the first date in January. Bring with you your ID card and a pencil.

In case of questions or doubts, do not exhitate to write me at nicola.cortesi@guest.unibg.it
