Dear all,
As you recall, at the end of today’s session, I explicitly warned that several students were using their mobile phones. Perhaps, this does not apply to 95% of the students at all because they stay focused constantly.
I officially decided to take some points off. I think that this is definitely fair to me & the students who stay committed to the course.
Please be re-informed again that the course syllabus (page 2) clearly indicates as follows:

Please be advised that students can use laptop computers inside the classroom only for the purpose of study-related matters (Mobile phones MUST be turned off during lectures & should be kept in the bag NOT on the desk.). If you do not follow the professor’s warnings, it will be considered a violation of the rules and your class participation points will officially be reduced to 0 points.
Once again, I would like to emphasize that I have no mercy to those who are selfish, disrespectful & unprofessional in my classroom. Managing people in a right & effective way is an extremely important task to prevent the situation that one toxic apple makes the rest toxic.
